About us
I’m Ben, and At Home Petcare is my in-home pet-care business, run out of Bellbowrie. The idea is simple: your pets stay in their own home, on their normal routine, and I come to them. It’s just me for now, so you get the same person every visit — not a different stranger each time.
Our story
It’s just me, Ben, running this, and I live in Bellbowrie. I started At Home Petcare because I’ve never liked the thought of a pet stuck in a strange kennel while their family’s away. Most animals do better at home — their own bed, their own routine, their own smells. So I bring the care to them and look after them the way I’d want mine looked after.
When I’m not out on visits, I keep planted aquariums — I aquascape them and breed ornamental shrimp, which takes a fair bit of patience and attention to small details. I’m just as at home with reptiles, birds and other exotics as I am with cats and dogs. My own two are Bruno and Mitten, my cats — and that’s Dexter with me in the photo, my German Shepherd and the best of dogs. He’s no longer with us, but looking after other people’s animals the way I looked after him is the whole reason I do this.

Exotics & aquariums
“A planted tank is a living system, not an ornament. It needs someone who knows what they’re looking at.”
I keep and aquascape my own planted tanks and breed ornamental shrimp, so I’m used to reading water and spotting a problem early. I’m comfortable with reptiles, birds and other exotics too. If your pet is the one other sitters won’t take on, I’m probably the person you’ve been looking for.
We’re a new local service, and we’d rather show you real reviews than borrowed ones. We’re gathering kind words from our very first families now — and they’ll live right here.
